Hunter House Hamburgers was established in 1952 and is the longest continually operating restaurant in Birmingham, Michigan. We feature high quality hamburgers with the sweet onions smashed into the burgers while still on the grill. Car and Driver Magazine says "Hunter House is one of America's Top Ten Roadfood Restaurants." Chef Craig at Birmingham's famed Townsend Hotel likes to refer to them as "gourmet sliders". Our famous Hunter House menu has no prejudice. You will find an old pickup parked next to a Mercedes Benz in our small but packed parking lot.

From the hot and steamy buns to the smell and taste of grilled onions, Hunter House consistently serves the best. "Just driving by and smelling the unmistakable aroma of the grilled onions can start you salivating, but that's not enough. They must be eaten to really be appreciated," Oakland Press.

Hunter House was recently recognized by Raymond Sokolov of The Wall Street Journal, as having one of the best burgers, "burger perfection," in America. The much photographed vintage 50's white porcelain diner comes complete with 28 counter stools and a friendly atmosphere, and has remained virtually unchanged since its inception. Al and his wife, Martha (deceased 1996), worked side by side, day and night for over 25 years to ensure that each of their customers were served promptly and with a smile. "Our guests deserve the best in quality and service," says Al. Today, his daughter, Susan Cobb, is committed to carrying on that tradition from her mother and father.

Our "Diner on Wheels" is an 8 1/2 ' x 24' mobile catering kitchen with a state of the art, Health Department approved stainless steel kitchen inside. The diner is a fully self-contained unit, equipped with generators and run by propane. It is operated and staffed completely by our trained Hunter House associates who will treat all guests with the utmost respect and service with a smile.

All Hunter House food is delivered fresh every day and is custom prepared for our guests. In our mobile diner, we are able to cook in any type of weather and can prepare and serve 250 hamburgers per hour. We provide everything including all paper goods.
