Depending on the diagnosis, we perform minimally invasive surgical procedures such as: • Microscopic Endoscopic Surgery – Performed on the lumbar and cervical spines and replaces the traditional large surgical incisions, using a very small keyhole endoscopic entry for surgical tools. • Percutaneous Nucleoplasty - For moderate disc protrusions. Using x-ray guidance. This is an out-patient procedure which eliminates general anesthesia and involves doing a needle puncture rather than a surgical incision. The use of microscopes and video with the advantages of less trauma, less tissue scarring, minimal blood loss, less post-operative pain and faster recovery. • X-Stop Insertion or Interspinous Decompression – For moderate cases of lumbar spinal stenosis. This is an out-patient procedure and carries a very minimal or no risk of damage to the intraspinal structures such as nerves or spinal cord which can occur in major open procedures. • Kyphoplasty – This is a percutaneous procedure treating fractures caused by osteoporosis or cancer of the spine. Balloons are used to restore the anatomy and cement is delivered to stabilize the spine. This procedure takes a few hours and can be performed under general or local anesthesia.
